Baby Safe has Finally Arrived

We are very proud to announce that our ‘Baby Safe’ has arrived after many years of prayer and hard work.

This ‘Baby Safe’ is a means for mothers to ‘post’ her baby into a safe space instead of putting the baby into a bin, toilet, black bag, etc.
The ‘Baby Safe’ has a control panel that will alert us that there has been a baby placed into the box. Our reaction time will be 3 minutes after the baby has been placed in the ‘Safe’.

We are obliged by law to report the ‘abandonment’ which will be done as soon as we receive the baby, as well as having the baby checked over by the District Surgeon. The first working day after the baby is received the case will be handed over to the welfare for further investigation.

The ‘Baby Safe’ will be in operation by the end of February at the latest.

CHOC Fundraiser

On the 26th September, two of our teenagers took part in the CHOC Fundraiser. They had to have two outfits, traditional and evening (something with Gold).

The preparation of the outfits of course fell on Mom’s hands. We fortunately were able to get a traditional outfit for Carmen made, which relieved me of that. Carmen’s Something with Gold, I put all the sequence on which if I say it myself looked lovely on stage.

Damon’s traditional outfit was alot of hard work but well worth it as they looked stunning. The something Gold all I had to do was to make the Bow Tie. (Boys are so much easier to dress.)

They both had alot of fun and a great day was had by everyone.

MAC’s 1313 Bike Club Breakfast

On Sunday 15th November the MAC’s (1313) Bike club organized a breakfast at Spur Bluff for the children and two caregivers.

The children really enjoyed themselves and as they walked in went straight to the play area.

When the bikers arrived with the great sound of their bikes, the fun began. Burgers & Chips, Cool drink and Ice Cream was the menu for the morning. They were spoiled by the bikers with Lucky Packets and by Spur with spur bags and sweets. Needless to say when we got home we had flying kids.

A great time was had by all. Thank you to all the great bikers who give this big rough biker look on the outside but have hearts of Gold on the inside.

Hello World Project

We have a project that is called Hello World. This project puts together starter packs for mothers who have nothing really to start out with when having their babies.

We have spoken to Addington Hospital and they are wanting to work hand in hand with us to ensure that the new mom’s receive a Hello World bag each.

This is a start up project and we are trying to establish which which would be the best bag to use for the project. It needs to be a bag which mom can carry easily, but can be produced in bulk as there are an average of 40 mothers in the ward at a time.
